Victron Energy Quattro 12/3000/120-50/50 230V VE.Bus Inverter Charger – QUA123020010

Product Description

The Victron Energy Quattro 12/3000/120-50/50 230V VE.Bus is a high-performance inverter and battery charger designed for marine, mobile, off-grid and backup power installations. Combining a pure sine wave inverter, a powerful 120A battery charger and an integrated 50A transfer switch, it provides reliable AC power and intelligent energy management in a single unit.

Operating from a nominal 12V battery bank, the Quattro delivers 3,000VA of inverter capacity and up to 2,400W continuous active power at 25°C under specified conditions. Its advanced power management features help balance available AC input power, battery charging and connected electrical loads.

Dual AC Inputs for Flexible Power Management

One of the Quattro's defining features is its ability to accept two independent AC power sources. These could be shore power and a generator, two generators, or other suitable AC sources. The unit automatically selects the active input according to its configuration and operating conditions.

This makes the Quattro particularly useful for installations where dependable power is needed from more than one source.

Intelligent PowerControl and PowerAssist

PowerControl allows the maximum AC input current to be configured to match the available supply. The Quattro can reduce its battery charging demand to help prevent overloading a limited mains or generator connection.

PowerAssist supplements a restricted AC supply with power from the battery and inverter when connected loads temporarily require more energy than the external source can provide.

Automatic Transfer and Two AC Outputs

The integrated transfer switch automatically changes between the selected external AC source and inverter operation when required. The main AC output provides rapid changeover to help maintain power to suitable connected equipment.

A second AC output is intended for loads that should only operate when external AC power is available. This can be useful for equipment such as water heaters or air conditioning, helping prevent non-essential loads from discharging the battery when the system is running from the inverter.

Key Features and Benefits

  • 3,000VA pure sine wave inverter: Supplies 230V AC power for compatible electrical equipment.

Installation and Compatibility

The Quattro is designed for integration into a suitably engineered 12V battery-based electrical system. It can be used with compatible battery banks, shore power, generators and other Victron Energy equipment.

Correct system design is essential because the inverter can draw very high current from the 12V battery bank at substantial AC loads. Battery capacity, battery discharge limits, DC cable sizing, fusing, AC protection, earthing and ventilation must all be appropriate for the installation.

The dual AC inputs must be connected and configured correctly for the intended power sources. The second AC output should be used according to its operating characteristics and the requirements of the connected loads.

VE.Bus communications support configuration and integration with compatible Victron monitoring and control equipment. Parallel or three-phase installations require compatible equipment and the correct system configuration.

Installation and commissioning should be performed by a suitably qualified professional in accordance with Victron Energy's instructions and applicable electrical regulations.

Important product identification: QUA123020010 is the 12V, 3,000VA Quattro with a 120A battery charger, two 50A AC inputs and a 230V AC output. It is not the 24V Quattro model or a MultiPlus inverter/charger.
